My Friend: Is Creation Responding to You?

March 19, 2014
Today, the Church desperately needs to learn how to hear and obey the voice of God. We all need to get to the place where we consistently hear and obey His voice. Failure is not of God, yet it is a human experience we are all too familiar with. Nevertheless, when we learn to pray and obey, failures can become distant memories, and success in God can become a normal way of life.

Romans 8:14 says, "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." Of course, the New Testament was written in the Greek language, and if you want to know the true meaning of a verse, it's best to find out what the Greek actually says. In this case, the work "sons" is a very interesting word. It could say, "The mature sons of God are the ones who are consistently led by the Spirit of God." If that's true, and we know it is, then we could also say that Christians who are not consistently led by God's Spirit are immature believers. Are you walking in the light of this truth? If you want to grow in the Lord, you have to be honest with yourself — are you consistently led by the Holy Spirit? If you don't like how you answer yourself, read on and I'll show you how.

The story of Adam and Eve is a forever illustration of what happens when God's people do not listen and obey His voice. The same thing that caused Adam and Eve to disobey God will also cause us to disobey God and miss out on His plans and provision. The sad story is that Adam and Eve succumbed to the desires of the flesh instead of the Word of God. As a result, they lost it all, and God's creation has suffered ever since.

Romans 8:19 says, "For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God's sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship]" (AMP). Notice this verse says "God's sons." This is the same Greek word used in Romans 8:14. Creation is waiting for God's children to mature, to become the sons He desires — ones who will hear and obey. That means that all creation is waiting for us to take our rightful positions. All creation is waiting for you to hear and obey.

Do you know creation was designed to respond to you? Think about it; God originally gave Adam complete dominion over all the earth. The earth and everything in it was designed to respond to Adam, and to you. But creation is waiting for you to mature...it is waiting for you to be led by the Spirit of God.

So what is it that's holding you back from maturing and taking your rightful place in God's creation? The answer is your flesh. Your flesh is your number one enemy and your greatest hindrance. Satan knew that, and he used Adam and Eve's flesh and ignorance against them. Well, the secret is out! You don't have to be ignorant of the devil's weapons anymore (2 Corinthians 2:11)!

Realize this: until you can control your flesh, you are going to have a problem with consistently hearing and obeying the voice of God — and, therefore, maturing as a son of God. With that in mind, there are some important things you must remember. First, you are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. The nature of your body or flesh will always be bent toward sin because sin is the nature of your flesh. But, thank God, you are not your flesh — you are a spirit, and God lives within your spirit.

Your spirit is your key to overcoming your flesh. Galatians 5:16 says, "Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh." When you allow your spirit to dominate, you will always be on the winning side. It is sad but true; most Christians don't know they even have a spirit. They go through life allowing their flesh and soul to dominate and never become aware of their spirit. It is imperative that we become spirit-conscious and God-inside-minded.

So, how do we become more spirit-conscious and God-inside-minded? How do we allow our spirit to dominate our lives? How do we pray, hear and obey, and allow God to open the doorway to blessings in our lives? There is so much I would like to share with you about this vital subject, but space does not permit in this letter. And, that's why I want to make my series, Pray & Obey — The Doorway to Blessings, available to you. In this 6-CD series we will dig deep into this all important subject and answer those questions — and more. It is my desire that you take your place in God's creation and mature into full sonship with all its privileges and responsibilities.

One of our responsibilities as we mature in God is hearing and obeying in the area of giving. In fact, giving, in many ways, is a gateway to maturity and higher levels of obedience. As we obey God in giving, how much we give then becomes a gateway to larger harvests. And the amount we give is always relative to what we have, not to what someone else has. That means that our harvest is totally dependent on and only on the amount we sow (2 Corinthians 9:6). It is vital that we hear from the Lord and give what He wants us to give. Many times we sow a little tomato seed and wonder why corn doesn't come! An abundant harvest can never come when you plant the wrong seed.

Now, God has great things to give you this year, so pray and ask Him what is the right measure of seed to sow to bring your harvest. Then, obey Him. God is not trying to take something from you; He's trying to get the right measure of harvest to you.

Our ministry is reaching Muslims all over the Middle East. Should God tell you to sow in thousands, we want to bless you with 60 CDs from our 10 most recent teaching series. For any seed over $25, we want to send you this vital teaching series Pray & Obey (6-CDs). It will forever change your life. Also, send your prayer request so we can agree with you for your harvest. Thank you for helping us reach the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
